An inside look at the video content that keeps streaming audiences pushing play.
This resource provides key insight into the video libraries powering the streaming industry’s leading subscription services: Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix and Paramount+.
Since we launched the Data Hub in November 2024, the global SVOD providers have collectively increased their video libraries by 6.7%, highlighted by a 72% increase in sports programming. The boost in sports content underscores its importance in driving viewer engagement, particularly for live, real-time competitions. Disney+ added the most sports content in the quarter, making it the second-largest distributor of sports programming of the five global providers.
Drama remains the dominant genre across the services, but documentary, comedy, children and adventure have become more prevalent on Disney+. The data also highlights a shift in geographic production trends, resulting in France becoming the third-largest producer of distributed video content for the period.
These charts depict the amount of content distributed by Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix and Paramount+ in 25 countries. They do not all operate in the same countries.

The Gracenote Data Hub is a set of data visualizations that present the content volume of subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) services. The data for the hub is derived from Gracenote Global Video Data, the industry’s most comprehensive database of TV show and movie information. The data visualizations present the composition of the industry’s leading SVOD catalogs. It is updated quarterly.
Which SVOD providers are included, and how were they selected?
Gracenote launched its Data Hub in November 2024 with five SVOD providers: Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix and Paramount+. These five U.S.-based services have scaled to distribute video globally and are tracked in at least nine countries within Gracenote’s video database. Gracenote plans to add Max when the data for the data hub is updated in first-quarter 2025.
Why is YouTube not included?
YouTube has several video services, but none are classified as subscription video-on-demand services for traditional television and movie content, which is the focus of the Gracenote Data Hub.
The primary YouTube offering (YouTube Main) is an ad-supported video sharing service for anyone who would like to upload and share video content.
YouTube TV is a virtual multichannel video programming distributor (vMVPD) that provides live, scheduled linear programming without a traditional cable subscription (e.g., ABC, NBC, AMC, FOX, etc).
YouTube Premium is an ad-free video-on-demand service that includes content from YouTube Main and YouTube Music.
Why are Tubi and Pluto not included?
The Gracenote Data Hub includes global SVOD providers. Tubi and Pluto TV each operate two streaming offerings: free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) and ad-supported video-on-demand (AVOD), both of which can be accessed without any subscription or registration.
Is Hulu included in Disney+?
Yes. Hulu is a content hub within Disney+ as well as a stand-alone app in the U.S. Our data is comprehensive of all of the sub-catalogs within Disney+, and therefore we do not count the content in the stand-alone Hulu app in the U.S.
Is ‘ESPN+’ included in Disney+?
No, as a separate subscription is required for ESPN+ content. However, Disney+ has added sports content from ESPN since Q4 2024 ,which amounts to around 10% of the programming available on ESPN+.
Is ‘Star’ included in Disney+?
There are three program types in the sports data that are currently available through SVOD:
Live team events: games, matches, competitions.
Live non-team events: games, matches, competitions for individuals.
‘Other’ sports programming: documentaries and other sports-related programming.
Which areas of content are included in the Gracenote Data Hub?
The Data Hub covers the volume of content on these five SVOD services, where it is being produced in the world, how it is distributed across the global providers, the division between TV shows, movies and sports, how much is available in different countries, genre and mood analyses. The Data Hub also provides quarter-over-quarter trends.
